Whitby Goes American
Whitby goes American

The North East recently attracted 350 dancers to ‘Ironstone’ - Whitby’s 14th
American Line & Dance weekend, organised by Jean Worthy & her crew.
Resident DJ Steve Mason and Instructor Hazel Pace were joined by Guest Choreographer Alan Birchall.

The event got underway on Friday with an evening of dance which included the live band ‘Fools Gold’, followed on Saturday by ‘Nashville Rose’ and on Sunday Glen Rogers & ‘Danzmasters.’

Morning and afternoon workshops were held both days with Alan Birchall, Hazel and Steve. Jacqui of Nuline Dance also attended the event and said, “With most of its 350 guests re-visiting the event year after year, the announcement by Jean Worthy on Sunday evening that there were only 20 places left for the 2012 event came as no surprise. It was a pleasure to attend this event which reflects the true values of dance. We had a fantastic time and met loads of wonderful dancers, thank you everyone for making this an event to remember.”
