MAUREEN JESSOP ‘Founding Mother' of French Country Western Dance.
This is my claim to fame! Together with Robert Wanstreet the ‘Founding Father' I began the very first C/W line dance club Les Amis du Far West in Paris 1993.
Over the years I've covered almost every aspect of the dance from competing in line and couples, dancing in demonstration teams, judging for the UCWDC and writing articles for Linedancer Magazine as well as other dance magazines, helping to organise dance events, public relations etc. etc.
After an absence of 5 years or so due to ill health I'm now back in the saddle as president of the representative body in France of the NTA (National Teachers Association), teaching a group in an Anglo/French association here in the Charente-Maritime (south-west France) where I've ‘retired'. Blogging and contributing once again to Linedancer Magazine.
You will discover my dancing adventures and meet many people devoted to dance in my Dancer's Diary Read on.....
