Dancing In Israel

Sandy Leigh from Step In Line dance club in Ra'anana, Israel describes her classes as ‘one big happy family’, she started the classes five years ago. She told us: “At least once a year one of our male dancers, who is also a tour bus driver, hires a bus and we go on an organised day trip somewhere. Each time it is somewhere different and with a different style of eating, restaurant, picnic, BBQ etc. At each tourist stop, we get off the bus and put our Line dancing music on and dance in the car park, which leads to lots of funny looks and lots of clapping at the end. We had to stop dancing in August as the weather is just so hot even with four air conditioners in the hall.” Unfortunately Sandy recently experienced a house fire and lost all her possessions. She adds: “My dancers got together and raised enough money for me to replace my sound system. One dancer hand sewed a magnificent summer quilt for my bed too. They are just great and I love them all.”
