Biography

Kathy Hunyadi has been a country dance instructor since 1993. As Project Manager for the Cowboy Beat newspaper for two years, Kathy was in direct contact with the country music scene. Several of her own dances such as MAX-a-mized, Bad Weather, and Frontier Breakdown, have been published in Step By Step, Country Dance Lines, and the UK’s Linedancer magazines and The Dance Card from Nashville. Tricky Moon, a dance choreographed for Capitol/Nashville recording artist George Ducas, was seen in Country Weekly Magazine. Two of her dances, Ghost Train and Come & Go Cha Cha, were featured on Jo Thompson’s Dance Link Video. Ghost Train was also a 1999 UCWDC competition dance. Kathy is personal manager and booking agent for the world renowned choreographer, Max Perry. She has taught dance classes at resorts in the Catskills and the Poconos, Hunter Mountain Country Music Festival, Cranberry Festival and Cape Cod Classic, and in England, Scotland and Australia. She has taught classes and judged line dance competition at UCWDC and Independent Country events and judged a CMT Dance Contest. She also served as Production Assistant on the Rick Tippe "Get Hot Or Go Home" instructional line dance video, and choreographed a dance routine for a contestant in the Miss Watertown, CT / Miss America Pageant. She was also one of the performers at the halftime show for the '97 New Year’s Eve Orange Bowl game in Miami FL

Biography

Max Perry has been a dance educator and choreographer for the past 25 years. He has served as the technical director and national dance board member of both the Fred Astaire and the Arthur Murray dance studios, and is considered an expert in the field of "American Style" ballroom dancing, as well as being noted as one of the top "Line Dance" choreographers in the world. He is also a line dance judge for UCDWC and helps conduct line dance judge training seminars for UCWDC as well as consults and judges for the FAAST Country circuit. Max Perry is a CDMA (Country Dance Music Award) nominated Choreographer for his dance The Honky Tonk Twist, and has received numerous other prestigious awards for excellence in choreography including "Best Dance in the Northeast" for Swamp Thang presented by Cowboy Beat magazine, and "Best International Choreographer" from The Canadian Dance Music Awards voted by dancers throughout Canada. On July 5, 1997 Max was named "Honorary President of Line Dancing" by the British organization Country Music in the Arts, as well as director of the British National Team. He received the"Top International Choreographer" award from Linedancer magazine at the British Country Dance Music Awards in England in 1998 and was inducted into the Line Dance Hall of Fame for Linedancer Magazine in February 1999 and was a 4 time nominee for the Feb. 2000 awards
