I can't believe that this discussion has been going on for 2 years over this dance! I learned it in 1997 as one of my first dances in Holland, and yes, I learned the 18-step version. Mr Silver, I can appreciate that it's very frustrating to have your dance misprinted and mistaught, but to get your lawyers to handle the case? Get a life and maybe write a new dance which will make more impression! And excuse me; the correct version was difficult at the time for professional dancers (with 2 more step touches than the 18 step "misprint")? Were these professional dancers advanced level, surely not? Or is the level of line dance here in Holland higher or something? On more point: I thought this part of the site was to review dances on their merit, not fight out legal battles about them (and have the choreographer give his own dance 5 boots!)This gives a warped impression of the merit of a dance when browsing the site in search of new and good dances.

Just curious. Is Ric Silver after money, acclaim, or both? Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.

yes.

to shejeans - if someone stole your puppy and made him walk backwards all the time - would you like it? I love the fact that people are doing my dance - I don't appreciate the fact that they do it incorrectly .. and I don't like going somewhere and getting up to do MY dance myself and everyone telling me that I am doing it incorrectly. Would You?

I'm not a very big fan of this dance now that I know others, but before hand this was like the very fist dance I learned and I'm sure for most others as well, and I leaned the way everyone else has learned it so weather it's wrong or not it's still a good little beginner dance either way you look at it.

I'm afraid I don't understand all the hoopla. I've watched people having a great deal of fun doing what, I guess, would be described by some as their version of the "Electric Slide," which seems to very closely resemble the description on this website. I'm not very good at learning things in public, with all of the loud music and other distractions. So I'm grateful that people have kindly put step by step instructions on the internet for dummys like me. Why would anybody want to criticize such an innocent gesture, offered in the spirit of sharing? I believe that the person who put this on the web intended nothing more sinister than access to something fun for simple, awkward folks like myself! Dear Mr. Silver needs to get over himself!!

to Darlene: just because you learned it incorrectly as did the rest of the country - doesn't make it right to Kari: check out htto://ric06379.tripod.com/id6.html for the correct choreography and view the video to redfox: if you were doing it correctly you wouldn't think so - when originally performed it was difficult for professional dancers to perform.

it really is about time this dance was destroyed. Once you're past the stage of knowing how to put your boots on it's too easy.

kari - 29/09/2004
I just want to learn the dance and see how it is done

I get very annoyed to about the 'The freeze' people call it the electric slide or the elvira freeze or the electric freeze, i think they all need to be sorted and posted! as it makes for a mess on the dance floor

What a bunch of uptight nerds.

Darlene Bogumil - 07/01/2004
These instructions are what I learned originally several years ago & still see it done like this - what's the problem!!!???

Ric Silver - 07/05/2003
you have three dances listed - Electric Slide(18)-Electric Stomp(24) and my original 22step Electric Slide - these other two are incorrect variations of my original choreography and my lawyers will be in contact to remove them

Ric Silver - 26/04/2003
