Because B only comes 3 times in the whole dance it takes a while to master that section - you can give up and just do A all the way through - but you really get a buzz when you eventually get A and B sections!! A brill dance!

In response to Jean's review and query (see below) I just do part A when I hear "Hey Baby" and part B if I don't. There are different mixes to this record and I think this is what has caused the confusion. A great fun dance anyway.

Hey Baby is a great dance and fits really well with the song, with the optional arm movements finishes it off nicely.A little tricky 2 start with as it has part A and B but once uv'e mastered it, it is fab! go on, giv it a go!

Good fun dance - makes everybody laugh - then sing!
Jean Barlow - 02/06/2001
Great dance, fun to do, sing-along type music. Section B a little difficult for some less experienced dancers. Some confusion though where to start - listen for 'un, dos, tres, cuatro' then count 32
beats to start. If you come in here the dance sequence works correctly: A,B,AA,BB,A's to end.

Waltz with a lot of turns. Nightmare to learn - get dizzy! Once mastered not too bad. Slow enough to put in some style.

We've had a lot of fun with this dance, which we first saw at the Silver Boot Awards. We bought the CD there and taught it as soon as we got back. I agree with Jean that the phrasing doesn't seem to fit with the phrasing on the script - we've done the same as Jean as part A is the chorus and part B the verse. When I danced it recently with another local dancer he actually started on the second A so I just waited for the extra 32 counts. I think it's one of those dances which will always have a dispute over when to start it - a bit like Shanias Moment. Another local dancer uses the second track on the cd which is the club mix and not the radio mix as mentioned on the script. Perhaps Linedancer will publish the dance and clear up the dispute over which track to use and where to start the dance.

I did this dance for the first time at Blackpool. Everywhere it was demonstrated the crowd applauded. It is a fun easy dance done to a great peice of music. No class will be dissappointed when learning this . Give it a go. You will love it. Our students did!

I love the music and the dance, but is the sequence printed on the dance script correct? I think it should read AABBAABBAAAAAAA.

This has got to be one of the most enjoyable allround dances I have ever taught, steps are good, phrased beautifully but not difficult and has a real good feeling about it as well as all the singing - this has put a lot of enjoyment back into line dancing and will encourage the non dancers to join in by singing along too! - thanks Paula!
