Got My Baby Back

Peter Day - 04/05/2013
A nice catchy song by Derek Ryan, Choreographed by Maggie Gallagher. Nice Charleston feel to the dance, not her usual style. Improver level dance which intermediates should also enjoy. Hope it stays around

Faking It

Sue Marks - 03/05/2013
Has taken us a few goes to get to grips with this one because of the timing - but well worth the effort and now we are all loving it. Keep hearing the music on radio so feet start going! Hope it does well - a little different - makes a change.

Back to The Wild Side

A great fun beginner class for all levels to do, especially contra or why not be really daring and try it in a circle :)
A Beautiful Noise

David Spencer - 01/05/2013
Personally I'm not a tremendous fan of this particular track but the steps flow well and the restarts are simple to spot. After a couple of weeks its one you can get up and just dance without too much thought.
Faking It

David Spencer - 01/05/2013
Great Argentine Tango feel but surely the steps are a standard off beat cha-cha? Seems to work well although I found it took a couple of weeks for everyone to get comfortable with the timing on wall 5 when the beat fades a little and the tag comes along. Hopefully it might be one they can remember without recapping it for weeks to come.
Shake The Room

David Spencer - 01/05/2013
Didn't go down too well the first week as I think some were put off by the sugar steps at the end of the dance. Seemed to go better on week 2 though. Easy to dance to as the music has a strong beat and the holds in the dance fit perfectly. Coming in at just under 3 minutes, it doesn't outstay its welcome either.
Because You Can

David Spencer - 01/05/2013
Powerful track and great dance to match. Two lots of 64 counts may seem a lot to remember at first but don't be put off. A is slower and soon out the way, then its B to the end of the dance. Rather than stop at count 8 when teaching sections 1 and 3 of B, I found it flowed better teaching the first 10 counts as a block so you don't break halfway through a rock step. the class liked it and it deserves to do well.
