My classes love this tango. We dance through the pause at the end

Sally Lanario - 07/05/2011
Taught this to my Intermediates this week they loved it in fact we danced it around 5 times !!!!!! Very stylish & different .It makes a lovely change to dance a Tango. Number 1 here we come ! open to all sorts of individual interpretation which encourages dancers to express themselves. Wonderful dance.

Good to see this dance with a difference at the top of the chart. Most of us in Sussex love it except those who are not Cher fans. Listen to the words and ham it up girls and boys, go on give it some oomph! Enjoy!

Very very well written dance - fits perfectly. Have taught it at both of my classes and everyone loves it. Only tricky bit I find is the end and when to come in again after the pause! Otherwise best dance I have learnt or taught for years - I love it!

Lorraine Greener - 12/03/2011
gone down really well with all of my classes so why don't i like it. think it's the music. did it to spanish eyes at a linedance party anf found i liked it better so must be the music[or me]

An instant hit with my improver class, this dance feels so different, it's got real character. Love it - thank you, Norm.

Lesley Michel - 23/02/2011
A hit with my class! Refreshing change to dance an Argentine Tango - and enjoyed by both improver and intermediate levels. Fun to see some individual styling on the dance floor once they were confident with the steps too!

Val Whittington - 22/02/2011
I love this one and so do the majority of classes,a fairly easy teach and plenty of room for individual interpretation !Acheivable by most and different music makes this a winner.

Diane Blairs - 21/02/2011

First new teach of the week. Class loved it very nice. One liitle tricky bit other than that fine. Restart and ending you can here well. Don't normally teach anything like this but well recieved

Stuart Gordon - 19/02/2011
Great dance goes well with great track by Cher. Good opportunities for interpretation and styling. Don’t let the terms put you off, the steps flow well with some interesting combinations. The ending is not as long as it looks as the first 16 are Sections 1 & 2. Watch section 7 as you can think it is the start of the new wall. Great dance deserves to be No1. . .Well done Norman

Sue Marks - 18/02/2011
Wow - just love it! Well received by the classes - bet it makes number one.

I love this dance and so do my dances! It's great to have a dance to some different music every now and again. It is slow enough for easy intermediates to pick up and it's got a fun element too. The choreography is great and what a great track by Cher too. Don't be put off by the vocabulary or the ending. Give it a go-it will definateley add something to to your class!

Mike Parkinson - 13/02/2011
Been teaching this great little "Tango" for a few weeks with great response from all my classes, the dance is easy enough for basic improvers to enjoy. Very easy teach and worthwhile. Very ejoyable, don't be put of by the Ganchos & Ochos, "Just do what it says on the tin" It's fun!! and by adding your own style of "Tango Flare" it's a must for your class!!

This has got to be the best tango since 'Tango With The Sheriff' and we have waited a long, long time for it. Love the choreography, Cher sounds great !!!

Lauren Turner - 11/02/2011

Been teaching this for the last two weeks, and my dancers love it.... nothing too hard, but with the Tango steps, different, and that's what makes it great! Have been watching this dance very quickly climb the charts, hope it gets to no. 1, as it deserves to.

Peter Jones - 06/02/2011

Am I the only one to have mixed feelings about this dance? Parts of it, the flicks, swivels and the turns in the final section I love. But the basic tango pattern parts where at first you end with a touch and then later in the sequence have to remember to put the weight down feel slow and too similar for me. Likewise the 1/4 turn in section 6 has to be a touch throughout the dance only to be changed to a step together in the 6th rotation. Overall though it does have the feel-good factor, interprets the music well and is just that little bit different.

Don't let the tango terminology put you off ~ a 'ganchos' is a hook and 'Ochos' ~ figure of eight swivel. Both of these moves help make this an extremely creative and very stylish dance. Love the music and love this dance, it grows on you!
